Most of the time, oldies are way better compared to songs today.
Love oldies.Although I don’t know many of the singers but all those beautiful songs kept lingering in my head every now and then.
So many good songs, especially from the 50-70s…
Don Mclean and Carpenters are two of my favourites.
Don Mclean is a wonderful song writer. He wrote most of his songs and there were all so beautiful…I love the words arrangements in those songs.Although I can’t sing really well, but I still love to sing along.
“Crying” is one of my favourite. The lyrics is nicely written and sometimes it really makes me cry…
I was all right for a while
I could smile for a while
then I saw you last night
you held my hand so tight
when you stopped to say hello
then you wished me well, you couldnt tell that Id been
Crying over you
Crying over you
then you said so long
left me standing all alone
alone and crying
crying, crying, crying
its hard to understand
that the touch of your hand
can start me crying
I thought that I was over you
but its true, oh so true
I love you even more than I did before
but darling, what can I do?
oh you dont love me
and Ill always be
Crying over you
Crying over you
yes, now youre gone
and from this moment on
Ill be crying, crying
crying, crying
Im crying, crying
over you
Karen Carpenter had one of the best voice ever.Sing live or listening her songs in the CD you can hardly differentiate them. Her pitch was prefect everytime and can always break through the narrowest gate to your heart. So touching
“Yesterday Once More” is one of their best song
When I was young
I’d listened to the radio
Waitin’ for my favorite songs
Waiting they played I’d sing along
It made me smile
Those were such happy times
And not so long ago
How I wondered where they’d gone
But they’re back again
Just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well
(*) every sha-la-la-la
Every wo-wo-wo
Still shines
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
That they’re starting to sing’s
So fine
When they get to the part
Where he’s breakin’ her heart
It can really make me cry
Just like before
It’s yesterday once more
Lookin’ back on how it was
In years gone by
And the good times that I had
Makes today seem rather sad
So much has changed
It was songs of love that
I would sing to then
And I’d memorize each word
Those old melodies
Still sound so good to me
As they melt the years away
Repeat (*)
All my best memories
Come back clearly to me
Some can even make me cry
Just like before
It’s yesterday once more
