The Summer of ‘99

It was the summer of '99
Under a red maple tree
I was 17
And you were 15
So young,so pure

We have love
And we thought it was all
We have each other
And we thought it was enough

Under the blue sky
We kiss
Under the warm sun
we cuddle
Under the blue sky
We laugh
Under the warm sun
We giggle

Then came the autumn
We saw red leaves falling down
We held each other tight
We saw the blue sky gone
And the warm sun turned cold
We swear we never say goodbye

And then it was the winter
The red maple tree covered by snow
Snowflakes in your hand
Melts and form a lake of icy water in your palm
You touched my face with your palm
And all I feel is the warmness between your fingers
All I feel is your warm touches on my face

Then the cold breeze gone
The last snowman in the backyard melts
And it was the first spring of the millennium
Flowers bloom in the field
And the red maple tree is alive again
But nothing is more beautiful than your eyes
Nothing cheer me more than your smile
Even the sun loses its charm
Because we have each other

Season come and season go
The red maple tree shade and regrow
It was the summer of '05
I was 23
You were 21
We have grown
And we start to forget
Forget how we love each other
Forget how we need each other
Forget we had each other

So we part away
We know it was a mistake
But we were just too proud to say sorry
We know we still love each other
But we were too proud to say sorry

Now
It is the winter of '10
The red maple tree covered by snow
Snowflakes in your hand
Melts and form a lake of icy water in your palm
You touched his face with your palm
And I bet all he feel is the warmness between your fingers
All he feel is your warm touches on my face He smiles to me
He is such as cute little boy
Who share the same name with me
He is your son
And I am your best friend
We may not be together
But we know we are not far apart

It was the summer of '99
Under a red maple tree
I was 17
And you were 15
So young,so pure.
